Why Does A Young Person Have To Die?

Questions about the death of a child: This interview with John Van Auken has some very interesting spiritual perspectives.

What happens to us when we die?
When we leave our earthly bodies and move to the next plane,  referred to as Heaven, our soul/mind/personality returns to the spiritual world where we are alive and filled with the freedom to grow in love and wisdom. It is a process that is very freeing, enlightening and joyful.

What if we are unprepared for our death? What if it was an accident?
Those who crossover in that situation are often confused at first. They did not have time to prepare. Loved ones, angels and guides arrive at once to greet us and help us with the transition. This loving help allows us to adjust and understand what has happened. As ‘souls’ we adjust to our ‘home’ again. We originated from this spiritual plane so it becomes familiar again to us.

Why does a child or young person die?
It is amazing to know that decision was made before we entered the earthly world. The experience of life in the physical realm is  intended to provide us with experiences that help our souls grow. It is through struggle, choices, and experiences of positives and negatives that occur on this plane which give us the opportunity to achieve that growth.  We choose our parents (along with the help of God/guides) and the situation into which we will be born. We also can make the choice to arrive on this earth to help others experience a very important ‘soul’ lesson. It is often said that the young are very evolved spirits who come here to help others learn a very ‘spiritual’ lesson.

Does our soul have a choice when to leave (die) while here or is everything predetermined?
Yes we have choices but there are about 5 exit points along the path of our earthly existence. The one we take is determined by an ‘inner knowing’ and the choices we make along the way.

Will we see our loved ones again in heaven?
Yes, we are bonded together through eternity.  In fact, we may experience life here on earth with our loved ones in many different situations throughout time. It is our choice when to come to this plane for the growth experience. In our spiritual form, time is very different than it is on the earthly plane. When we arrive here, those in the spiritual realm know we will return very soon. It almost seems like a trip to the store. So, when a loved one here crosses over we should remember they’ll be waiting for us and  for them, it will seems like just a little while until we join them.

Are our children in Heaven still connected to us here on the earthly plane?
Absolutely. They surround us daily, hear us, love us. But remember, they also have a very full existence in the spiritual realm. They are reconnected to those who have crossed before them as well as those they’ve known and loved throughout eternity. They experience joy and are active. We have every opportunity to stay connected to them if we choose.

Why do some people have to experience the horrible pain of losing a child while others do not?
Though it is hard to believe, this sort of pain is one of the biggest opportunities for soul growth. We can choose to wither underneath the weight of the loss, or grow through time. Each person’s experience on this earth will be different and with good reason.  The harshest of experiences offer the greatest opportunity for growth. It is through the greatest pain that the greatest growth can occur.
